The B.C. government’s Forestry Revitalization Plan set in motion a new era of forestry in our province opening up new opportunities in forestry for small business, entrepreneurs, communities and First Nations. Since the announcement of the plan in spring 2003 many revenue sharing agreements and new tenure agreements with First Nations have been completed or are in the works. The coastal forest industry is committed to working together with government and First Nations to help First Nations benefit from these new opportunities in forestry.
In summer 2005, the provincial government and First Nations in B.C. embarked upon a new relationship. Coast Forest Products Association is committed to supporting this initiative by working together with the parties to bring the broad goals of the new relationship to the working level in the forest.
